Cialis Dosage
When deciding on an impotence treatment, a doctor or chemist can help to prescribe the correct dosage for you. Cialis dosages are prescribed according to many different factors, such as how many times a week you are sexually active, the stage of your erectile dysfunction, your health condition and any medications you are taking.
There are two types of Cialis dosage, standard, which is taken as needed, and Cialis Once Daily, which is taken daily as a long-term impotence treatment. If you are unsure which is best for you, please contact our medical team for more advice.
What are the different doses and how long do they last?
Cialis 10mg and 20mg
The 10mg and 20mg dosages are generally what a doctor prescribes if you are a healthy male, without any pre-existing conditions that would be affected by Cialis, and if you aren’t taking any medications that could react negatively with it. Both 10mg and 20mg doses remain active in the body for up to 36 hours after taking them, which is why this impotence treatment is often called the weekend pill.
A 10mg or 20mg Cialis dosage should not be taken more than once every 24 hours. If you think you will be in a position to take it more than twice a week, the daily option is potentially more suitable for you. These Cialis dosages are known as ‘as needed’ doses, and are only taken when you expect to have sexual intercourse and want to perform.
A 10mg dose may be recommended to you if there are any minor Cialis precautions associated with your case, for example, if you are on any medications that might affect how this impotence treatment works or if you are suffering from any conditions that need monitoring. The larger 20mg dosage is generally given as the starting dose, but can be decreased, depending on the results you experience.
Cialis Daily 2.5mg and 5mg
This lower Cialis dosage is small enough to take daily. This smaller dosage is known as Cialis Once Daily, and is also available on prescription. If you expect to have sexual intercourse more than twice a week, or if you have a more prolonged problem with impotence, then the daily version could be a better option for you. It remains active in your body all the time, meaning that you can enjoy more spontaneous sex.
As is it a low dose, many people assume that there will be less side effects and that it may be possible to take other medications with it. This however is not the case, as even though it is a lower dose, it will be present in your body 24-7. This means that if you are taking medications which could interfere with Cialis, or are susceptible to side effects, you could experience them over a prolonged period. Make sure you report side effects to your doctor and seek their advice before taking other medication.
