Femodene FAQs

What are the benefits of Femodene?

This contraceptive pill is almost 100% effective if taken properly. It is proven to regulate periods, reduce period pain, make periods lighter, improve PMS symptoms and decrease mood swings.

How do Femodene pills work?

Femodene tablets work to prevent pregnancy by altering the environment of the reproductive system to make it almost impossible to conceive. This is done in three ways, the first of which involves thickening the mucous of the cervix to make it almost impossible for sperm to reach the womb. Femodene pills will also stop an egg from being released by the fallopian tubes, which means that if sperm can reach the womb, there won't be anything to fertilise. It also stops the womb lining from thickening, which means that if an egg were to be fertilised, it couldn't implant itself in the womb and develop, so conception is prevented.

Who can buy it?

If you're between 18 and 25 and you want a contraceptive pill, you might be able to buy Femodene birth control pills from euroClinix once you've completed an online prescription with one of our registered doctors.

Who cannot buy it?

If you're pregnant or breastfeeding; if you've ever had blood, heart or circulatory issues; or if you suffer from migraines, you might not be able to buy Femodene. There are a number of other conditions which could stop you from buying Femodene online. It's important you discuss your medical history with a doctor, so they can be sure that it's safe to prescribe you this contraceptive pill.

How do you take these pills?

Femodene pills should be taken once a day for 21 days, after which you'll have a seven-day break from taking pills. During this pill-free week you'll probably experience a withdrawal bleed, but it's just your body's way of expelling the hormones. You'll stay protected during this week.If you forget one or two pills, you'll still have contraceptive cover but you'll need to take the last pill you missed and continue using the pack as normal. If you miss three or more Femodene pills, it will no longer be effective. You should use a barrier contraceptive for seven days, take the last forgotten pill and continue with the pack as usual.

What are the side effects?

Any prescription medication might cause unwanted side effects, and Femodene is no different. It's not uncommon for women to experience some side effects when they start to use this contraceptive, but these should become milder with time as your body gets used to the hormones.

The more commonly reported side effects include nausea, vomiting, headaches, weight changes, thrush, breakthrough bleeding, changes to libido and fluid retention.

Can you buy Femodene online?

You can buy Femodene tablets online if you complete an online consultation with one of our doctors. If the doctor decides that it's safe to prescribe you these pills, your prescription will be sent to our registered pharmacy that will dispense your medication before dispensing it via free overnight delivery.
