Oestrogen Could Prevent Stroke In Prematurely Menopausal Women

Researchers from the Mayo Clinic have found proof that oestrogen may not be a stroke risk factor in all women and could actually reduce the risk of younger women experiencing premature menopause.

The group evaluated the results from a new study conducted by the Mayo Clinic as well as six other studies conducted around the world. What they discovered was that, before the age of 50, oestrogen actually reduced the risk of stroke in women who were taking it as a result of having started menopause early. However oestrogen can still present a risk to older women.
