Viagra Manufacturer Could Sponsor Monumental Flagpole

Officials in Toronto have requested for Pfizer, the manufacturers behind leading impotence drug, Viagra, to sponsor a flagpole, which would be the largest of its kind in North America. The flagpole is set to be a monumental 125 meters tall, with a Canadian flag the size of an American football field at the top of it.

“The makers of Viagra would jump at the chance to sponsor the largest pole in North America” said Howard Moscoe, who was a member of the Mayor’s committee. The flag pole is set to be constructed as part of a centrepiece in a public square in Emery Village in Toronto.

Economic Development General Manager Mike Williams revealed that the project could cost up to $10 million. $3.5 million will be needed for the actual flag pole, whilst a further $7.5 million could be needed to buy the land in which the officials are hoping to erect the flagpole.

The flagpole has been heavily backed by councillor Giorgio Mammoliti. “This is history in the making” said Mammoliti who believes that the flagpole will attract large numbers of adults and children because of its sheer magnitude. “Why wouldn’t we want to be honouring our country that way?” he said when the committee questioned the cost of the project.

The council eventually voted in a 30-6 favour to go ahead with the plans. The Emery Village Business Improvement Area is being advised “to seek corporate sponsorship from companies like Pfizer Inc.”

Since the approval of Viagra in 1998, Pfizer has widely manufactured the impotence treatment that has helped millions of men to combat erection problems. The move to ask the company to sponsor such a monumental landmark is further proof of Viagra’s mainstream acceptance.

Viagra is perhaps the best known FDA approved erectile dysfunction treatment. There are other treatments that combat erection problems, such as Cialis and Levitra. Manufacturers of these treatments may also be contacted by officials in order to raise the necessary money for the flagpole.
