Haemorrhoids or piles are small lumps caused by varicose veins that can develop either inside the anus or outside of the anus, leading to a number of uncomfortable symptoms, such as irritation, itching and inflammation.
Anusol HC has been clinically proven to provide fast relief for haemorrhoid symptoms. This prescription treatment is available as an ointment and suppository to not only treat the infection but also reduce the amount of time you have the outbreak. It can help to alleviate itching, soreness and associated pain including that felt after bowel movements. In addition to helping alleviate symptoms it also protects the skin surrounding haemorrhoids to stop it from getting infected further. Anusol HC is effective for treating piles both externally and internally. The hydrocortisone ingredient cleverly activates only when needed to relieve itching, irritation and swelling.
Anusol HC ointment contains benzyl benzoate (1.25%), bismuth oxide (0.875%), bismuth subgallate (2.25%), hydrocortisone acetate (0.25%), Peru balsam (1.875%), and zinc oxide (10.75%). Anusol HC suppositories contain benzyl benzoate 33mg, bismuth oxide 24mg, bismuth subgallate 59mg, hydrocortisone acetate 10mg, Peru balsam 49mg, and zinc oxide 296mg.
Both Anusol HC ointment and suppositories contain a number of ingredients which work together to alleviate the discomfort and irritation caused by haemorrhoids. Hydrocortisone works as a steroid to reduce inflammation or swelling caused by the piles. In addition the rest of the ingredients are mildly astringent and have antiseptic properties, meaning they work to help sooth the irritation caused by haemorrhoids. Peru balsam works as a protective and healing agent by helping to promote the growth of skin cells.
The separate ingredients in Anusol HC work together to help alleviate the discomfort and pain associated with hemorrhoids.
