What is Condyline?

Condyline is a cutaneous solution that treats genital warts in men and women.

It treats small, soft warts rather than large clusters. Genital warts are caused by a virus (HPV), so, unfortunately, aren’t curable. However, outbreaks are manageable with the correct treatment.

You can buy Condyline online from euroClinix to treat genital warts. It is available as a 0.5% solution. Simply complete a short online consultation and the treatment will be with you as soon as the next day.

How does Condyline work?

Condyline solution contains the active ingredient podophyllotoxin, a plant extract. It works by targeting the wart cells, preventing viral wart cells from dividing and multiplying. Doing so kills the wart cells and allows new healthy skin cells to grow in their place.

How effective is Condyline?

Recent research has shown that Condyline is a very effective treatment for genital warts. One clinical trial Trusted source NIHR Journals Library Peer-reviewed Journals Health Research Go to source found the 0.5% solution to be over 92% effective. They also found that it was the most cost-effective first-line method.

Who can use Condyline?

Condyline solution is for people with small clusters of genital warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV).

You should not use this medication if:

  • you are allergic to the active or inactive ingredients
  • you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • you are using any other products containing podophyllin (e.g. Warticon)
  • the area of skin is broken, bleeding or inflamed

You may require close medical supervision on this treatment if you are a woman or a man with widespread symptoms.

In addition, if you use any other medications, either prescription or over-the-counter drugs, please consult your doctor before using this treatment.

If you’re not sure, ask your doctor or healthcare provider.

How do I use Condyline?

Condyline is an easy-to-apply topical solution.

  1. Start treatment in the morning.
  2. Wash affected areas with soap and water, then dry well.
  3. Dip the end of the plastic applicator stick (which has a hole in it) into the bottle until the hole is filled with solution.
  4. Apply the solution onto a wart and let it dry itself. Repeat for each wart. Do not use more than 50 “dips”.
  5. Firmly replace the lid of the bottle and wash your hands.
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 12 hours later, then twice a day for the next two days.

Apply the solution to each wart twice a day for 3 consecutive days - 6 treatments across 3 days. You should not exceed this dose.

If you apply too much, wash the area well with soap and water. If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your treatment from your next scheduled dose.

What if it hasn’t worked?

If the outbreak hasn’t cleared after the first week, your doctor may recommend repeating the same treatment course the following week. In rare cases, you may need to repeat treatment for 3-5 weeks.

What precautions should I take whilst using Condyline?

This treatment is only for external use on small clusters of warts. If you need to treat large areas, your doctor will recommend a more appropriate treatment.

Take care to avoid getting the solution in contact with healthy skin, fragile skin, or mucous membranes, as this can irritate. If contact does occur, wash the area thoroughly with soap and water.

Do not have sex whilst using treatment. Sex can also irritate symptoms.

Genital warts is an STI (sexually transmitted infection) which means it can be transferred to your partner through unprotected sex, even if symptoms aren’t visible. Any growths not covered by a condom can still be passed on through protected sex. If you have had unprotected sex during an outbreak, your sexual partner must get an STI test from a sexual health clinic.

What are the possible side effects of Condyline?

Although Condyline is well tolerated by most people, like all prescription medications, there is a chance of side effects.

Some common side effects include:

  • inflammation of the foreskin and/or head of the penis
  • irritation of the vagina
  • wart irritation shortly after applying the solution - resulting in a burning, painful or stinging sensation, or abnormal lesions (growths)

If these side effects become bothersome or persistent, or if you experience anything worse, you should contact a doctor straight away.

Although uncommon, it is possible to experience an allergic reaction. Signs may include a severe painful redness or irritation.

Can I buy Condyline over the counter?

Condyline is a prescription-only medication and cannot be purchased over the counter. Wart treatments available over the counter, such as salicylic acid, should not be used for the treatment of genital warts.

Can I buy Condyline online?
